Our Mission
Our private Traditional Latin Rite chapel, dedicated to Our Lady of Gaudalupe, was founded on a very simple principle “lex orandi, lex credendi". The Latin phrase literally means the law of prayer ("the way we worship") is the law of belief ("what we believe"). It is sometimes expanded to as, "lex orandi, lex credendi, lex vivendi", further deepening the implications of this truth - how we worship reflects what we believe and determines how we will live." Keep in mind that lex orandi is the whole complex of historical prayer texts, ceremonies, and music that make up the Roman Rite.” We labor to preserve the liturgical tradition which exists in the classical Roman Rite.
Our bishop of the Diocese of Western Montana, Bishop Austin Vetter, keeping with Traditionis Custodus, suppressed all Traditional Latin Masses within the diocese, on February 1, 2022. The bishop was then petitioned to invite The Fraternity of St. Peter into the diocese, which he denied. After seeking the TLM in our area of western Montana for over thirty-five years, we had no other alternative but to establish a private TLM chapel in March of 2022. We live six hours in any direction from the FSSP or SSPX. We had been driving hours to attend the few diocesan TLMs.
We pray for Pope Leo XIV and Bishop Austin Vetter in the Eucharistic Prayer at every Mass offered at Our Lady of Gaudalupe private chapel. It is most certainly legitimate for us to adhere in truth and charity to that which the Church has solemnly taught and practiced for centuries over false obedience to novelties. Our private TLM chapel is served by vetted cancelled priests from around the country, who we fly in each Sunday and Holy Days of Obligation.
If you are either living in the area or traveling through while on vacation, you are welcome to attend.
